To My Adam

Happy Birthday, sweet little boy!  We are so grateful that you are a part of our family, and we can't imagine life without you.

Being a year old means:

You can't keep a shirt clean for more than five minutes.

You can't keep Mom's shirt clean for more than five minutes.

You're old enough to know exactly what you want, but too young to understand why you can't have it.

Being best friends with your older brother. You two play so well together (usually).  He is so nice to you and helps you all the time.  You think he is just so funny and you enjoy watching his antics.

You're a total momma's boy.

You're starting to take some steps, and you're about to take off any day.

Papa is one of your favorite people.

You love your stuffed Mickey Mouse.

Smoothies are your favorite, along with watermelon, cherries, grapes, bananas, and strawberries.  Yogurt us up there, too, and anything with sugar in it.  You got your Mom's sweet tooth, for sure.

You love to jabber.

You act coy when you meet people talk to you.

You love your pacifier.

You laugh at naptime when I put you in your bed.

You already have twelve teeth!  I think Isaac had maybe four when he was a year old.

You are the sweetest, cutest little guy, and you have everyone you know wrapped around your little finger.

We love you!

Happenings

I call this 'The Yogurt Tree'.  Or: 'What-Happens-When-You-Don't-Wipe-The-Counter-For-A-Whole-Day'.  Or: 'What-Happens-When-You-Just-Got-A-Puppy-And-You're-Remodeling-Your-Home'.  Mediums used were yogurt, animal cracker, and rose stem.  Sometimes you just have to find beauty in unexpected places.

We've been pretty busy at the P. household of late.  Mostly fun things, like:

 Remodeling.

Lots of working on the remodel.  The Bug is loving the Father-Son time out helping his Daddy.

 Camping near Richfield.
We had a lot of fun.  The boys slept through the night, and in my mind that makes for a successful trip.  My allergies were SO bad, I had a hard time enjoying nature, but we got to do a little exploring and had some really good food (another huge camping win).

Yes, that is toilet paper in my nose.  Don't judge.

The rope swing was a huge hit.

Adam wanted in on the action.  He loved the swing!

PUPPY!!!

Introducing: Tacoma George.  Or: Tucker, Tuck, Tucky, Tuck-Tuck

Needless to say, we're having fun.  Tucker is a little ball of energy, but he's a fast learner and very sweet.  I think he is going to be a great addition to our family.  Shout out to my AMAZINGly tolerant, understanding, and loving husband for letting this happen. I love you, Babe!

Knights and Armor...or should I say Amor

So here I am, back from the dead. Or visiting, at least. I have been busy with all things 'move' lately and while slightly anxiety-provoking at times, it has been mostly fun. I will post some pictures of what we are doing to the house sometime soon. Maybe.

In the mean time...

I found this little gem from my senior year of high school while organizing some of our stuff. If I recall correctly we were given an assignment to write a letter to our future love, and that was about the only specification.

It's just too good to keep to myself:

Dearest Love, of whose sweetness I will one day partake, I pray thee, find me today. Though I know thee not, in my heart is a picture of thee.

Thine eyes, of deepest blue, glisten like the stars upon which I wish each night that thou wilt come to me. Thy hair is golden brown and soft, like unto the ears of a young pup. Thine arms are strong, and do easily embrace my slender frame. Thy hands are great, and rough from hard work, but do tenderly cup mine own hands. Thy words, which flow easily from thy passionate lips, do reach straight to my soul. Thou art never bitter, nor foul, nor rude. But rather, thou art kind, soft, compassionate, perfect.

Each night upon my pillow, do I dream of thee. Upon your white horse, will you one day ride into the horizon of my life. Is it truth, or be it just a hopeless dream? No, 'tis not so! My dream will one day live, and I will have thee for my own.

And when, for the first time, mine eyes do rest upon thy holy face, how will I know that it is thee? Oh, but I will know, my love, because it was meant to be. For when I see thee, I will know thee. And it will be as if we had known each other for all our lives.

I thought it was a dumb assignment, so I totally hammed it up. The whole thing was a huge joke. The funny thing is, I think it was one of the only papers that I got 100% on all year. My teacher ate it up! She wrote on the back: "This is beautiful! May I have a copy? Your prince will come--wait and choose wisely! :)"

Here’s the best part, joking aside: he did come. And I did choose wisely. And he is as wonderful as I had painted him to be, albeit sarcastically. If only I had known that everything would work out, maybe I could have chilled out and enjoyed my life a little more.

It's Been Awhile

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

It's been so nice to have a break!

Christmas break was wonderful. I desperately needed a break from the routine, and it was great to have the Mr. around more.

I've decided to spend a lot less time online, so I probably won't blog as often.

It's hard to sum up a month and a half in one blog post, so I'll just post a bunch of pictures instead.

Dad and the Bug making Adam's Christmas present.

Afghan I crocheted for a Christmas gift.

Little Buddies

3 men and a baby

Yes, it's been that long since I've posted pictures. Here's Jimmer and his basketball from Halloween.

2012 is looking to be a good year for us, possibly with a lot of changes. Every day is an adventure with the wee ones, but they sure keep us laughing.
